I am writing an article about an air strike by two F-100 pilots against NVN rocket sites outside of Firebase Alpha 4 [Con Thien] on March 5, 1971. That strike was remarkable because of the intensity of the rocket attack and the jeopardy of the Firebase. If you have any information from a soldier's perspective, please contact me.
I am an Air Force veteran. I served with the 6470th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon in 1967.

I landed in Saigon November 1966 & went to Long Ben awaiting orders. My M O S was aircraft mechanic so I was sent to Dong Ha, when I got to Dong Ha there was no observation aircraft { Bird Dog } for me to work on so I was sent to J.J.Carroll & placed in the motor poll, given a duce and a half, sent to bottom of the hill at Carroll next to the river & the SeaBee's loaded me with gravel for the roads at Carroll.
